Louis Vuitton cabin trunk c.1912

Superb Louis Vuitton cabin trunk from 1912, covered with a stenciled canvas and protected by lozine borders. This trunk is equipped with leather handles, with brass jewelry and 3 original clasps stamped "Louis Vuitton Paris".

There are also original leather loops for the passage of a reinforcing strap. The original customer initials "G.P" are painted on each side, with yellow and blue lines on the front and top of the trunk. Family colors, allowing staff to recognize the owner's trunks when the luggage arrives at a train or ship station.

The interior is complete, with full furnishings for an early 20th century gentleman. There is a compartment for top hat, ties, belts, shirt collars and long clothes. The interior is in perfect condition.

There is also the Louis Vuitton manufacturer's label, as well as the trunk's serial number. A number is engraved on the lock. We still have the original Louis Vuitton key.

The bottom of the trunk is equipped with four wheels, with the Louis Vuitton marking on the wooden slats. Originally, these 33cm high trunks accompanied the traveler during the journey, stored under the berth in the cabin of the liner or sleeper.

Very good condition: The trunk is in superb condition, everything is original. We simply cleaned the brass parts. We notice a very nice patina of the canvas, with some marks on the lozine.

Built in Asniere sur seine, near Paris, in 1912 - We bought it in Switzerland and restored it in our workshop in Normandy. Today, 110 years after its manufacture, this trunk is back in Paris in our little store to continue its journey.
