Louis Vuitton trunk of representative c.1930

Superb Louis Vuitton special order from 1930, unique model covered with black coated canvas and protected by dark lozines. The trunk is equipped with brass clasps stamped Louis Vuitton, with wooden reinforcements and leather handles.

This is a unique order made by Louis Vuitton for the company OLOXO which was located at 36 avenue Hoche in Paris and specialized in the sale of cosmetics. This trunk accompanied the company's salesman, to present the products available for sale, in the apartments of the rich Parisian women of 1930. We find on the top of the trunk the coordinates of the company painted in white.

The interior design is very particular, with a compartmentalized frame to store the different products to be presented to the customers. There is also a removable black chalkboard with spring-loaded fixings, which allowed the salesman to indicate and share prices to his customers.

Leather and felt reinforcements are also attached to the interior to protect the tub. The Louis Vuitton manufacturer's label with the authenticity number is glued on this lining.

The central lock is marked Louis Vuitton Paris - London, with the engraving of a small star just above the key entrance. This type of clasp was used for specific keys that could open several different objects (car, furniture, suitcases, etc.).

Very good condition : Superb piece, in excellent condition, with a few marks on the outer canvas. There is just an ink stain under the inner frame. Everything is original on this trunk.
